ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER

As one of the largest water utility companies across the globe, Rand Water are responsible for supplying bulk quantities of superior quality water to more than 12 million South Africans. Established in 1903, Rand Water has never failed to supply water to the growing economy in the country.
 

ABOUT THE BURSARY

Rand Water are inviting students studying towards undergraduate qualifications to apply for the bursary programme. If you have not received any feedback regarding your application within 30 days from the application deadline, regard your application as unsuccessful.
 

Bursaries will be awarded within the following fields of study:

  • Water Care (BTech/ National Diploma): 2nd to 4th year
  • Quantity Surveying (BTech/ Degree): 2nd/ 3rd year
  • Electrical Engineering (BTech/ National Diploma): 2nd/ 3rd year
  • Mechanical Engineering (BTech/ National Diploma): 2nd/ 3rd year
  • Instrumentation Engineering (BTech/ National Diploma/ Degree): 2nd/ 3rd year
  • Process Engineering (BTech/ National Diploma/ Degree): 2nd/ 3rd year
  • Civil Engineering (BTech/ BSC Eng/ B.Eng/ National Diploma/ Degree): 2nd/ 3rd year
  • Mechanical Engineering (BTech/ BSC Eng/ B.Eng/ National Diploma/ Degree): 2nd/ 3rd year
  • Chemistry (BSc Chemistry/ Degree): 2nd/ 3rd year

 

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

  • South African citizen
  • Under 30 years old
  • Completed Matric OR currently in Matric
  • Studying or intend on studying in one of the above mentioned fields of study
  • Studying (or accepted/ registered to study) at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa (University/ University of Technology)
  • Achieved a minimum of 65% for all major subjects
  • Interested in working within the water sector
  • From a previously disadvantaged background
  • NOT in possession of any other bursary awards/ funding

*Preference will be given to female applicants, as well as students with disabilities.
